Peninsula College recently completed a bleacher improvement project on their Port Angeles campus. Bruce Dees & Associates was retained for design and construction review and Hoch Construction served as the general contractor. The project encompassed such improvements as: two continuous 60′ aluminum bleachers with closed decks and top rails, two 30′ bleacher covers with associated footings, and a two-tiered retaining wall.
The original renovation of Sigmar Field from a grass to synthetic turf field was designed and overseen by Bruce Dees & Associates, providing a familiarity for our firm with the field and campus as a whole that ensured a seamless blending of new facilities with existing structures. The bleacher cover color and style were selected to blend with the existing fabric of the facility and its surroundings while the new retaining wall both addresses maintenance issues near the field as well as provides a clean look to the north side of the bleachers and neighboring welding shop. Careful consideration was given during construction in order to avoid damaging the synthetic turf field and porous asphalt walkway.
